Overview
Maureen concentrates her practice at Jimerson Birr on creditors’ rights, tailoring client-driven solutions to accounts receivable challenges. She has over sixteen years of experience in creditors’ rights litigation and has represented numerous companies in state and federal courts in Florida and Georgia, as well as a variety of arbitration forums. Maureen has extensive experience providing comprehensive commercial and consumer collection, legal and collateral recovery services to both large and small, national and local businesses.
Maureen has also defended financial institutions and other corporations in actions involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, as well as related state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws. Her wide-ranging litigation and collections experience allow her to provide a unique approach to resolving accounts receivable issues.
Previously, Maureen served as in-house counsel to a Fortune 500 title insurance company focusing on real property, escrow and mortgage-related disputes and litigation. She also represented large and small corporate clients.
Maureen is a self-proclaimed “rules-nerd” and has been honored to serve the Florida Bar through her appointment to rules committees throughout her membership tenure. She is a Michigan native, that now calls Atlantic Beach home with her family. Her weekends are at the mercy of her children’s never ending extra-curricular activities and birthday parties.
