Overview

Christopher M. Wittbrodt is an experienced litigator who is equally comfortable handling matters involving straightforward breach of contract issues all the way up through complex, high stakes matters involving millions of dollars of potential exposure. At Jimerson Birr, he represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court in a wide range of commercial litigation matters including, but not limited to, those involving post-judgment collections, construction defects, personal injury, fraudulent misrepresentations, injunctions, and commercial landlord-tenant disputes.

Prior to joining Jimerson Birr, Mr. Wittbrodt was an associate at a national insurance defense law firm where he regularly defended public and privately held companies in matters involving wrongful deaths, automobile negligence, premises liability, medical malpractice, property damage, breaches of contract, and construction defects. Before beginning his legal career, he worked as a compliance analyst at a global investment bank assisting with anti-money laundering investigations. His experience working at a Fortune Global 500 company taught him the importance of collaborating with stakeholders to identify key objectives and see to it that their objectives are accomplished in the most effective way possible, whether that requires aggressive litigation or a more nuanced solution. He is well practiced in helping his clients navigate obstacles such as reputational risk, exposure to significant legal costs, and regulatory risk for companies operating in highly regulated industries.

Mr. Wittbrodt attended Flagler College in St. Augustine, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2015. He graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law with a Juris Doctor in 2018. During his time in law school, he was a member of the Florida Moot Court Team and successfully competed at a national competition as half of a team that won second best brief and placed among the top eight teams overall in 2017. He also won Best Advocate at a national mock trial competition as part of the school’s Phi Alpha Delta (“PAD”) Mock Trial Team in 2017, before going on to coach the PAD Mock Trial Team the following year.

As a non-Florida native who moved to Jacksonville after law school in 2018, Mr. Wittbrodt is particularly appreciative of the readily accessible natural beauty of North Florida. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, taking full advantage of our plentiful North Florida beaches, checking out local restaurants, playing his guitars, and playing butler for his ever-demanding rabbits, Luna and Vinnie.
