Michele L. A. Rollins

Overview

Michele L. A. Rollins joined Jimerson Birr as an attorney in March 2024. Michele’s specialties include real estate, development, sales and leasing; construction; transportation and logistics; government entities; employment law; community associations; and dispute resolution.

Michele previously owned and operated a successful law firm, L. A. Law PA, a boutique law firm in Jacksonville, Florida, where she oversaw the entire spectrum of the firm’s operations. This included managing real estate matters, handling contracts, spearheading new business development, supervising client intake, negotiating all client-related affairs, and conducting real estate closings for realtor and lender clients. From 2018-2020, Michele spearheaded real estate closings for Landmark Title and Heekin Law primarily for their St. John’s County location where she conducted over 80 closings per month.

In her previous role as Outside Legal Counsel for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority, one of the five government entities in Jacksonville, Michele provided legal counsel and guidance to the CEO, General Counsel, and senior leadership team across various business units. Her legal acumen covered employment law, real estate matters, human resources, and procurement. Additionally, she represented the Authority as local counsel in EEOC administrative hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences. Michele also collaborated with senior executives and HR teams on issues related to employee discipline, non-compete agreements, and employee complaints. Her comprehensive role included conducting in-house employee investigations and overseeing outside litigation counsel, along with negotiating settlement agreements and offering alternative dispute resolution options in conjunction with opposing counsel.

In addition to her legal expertise, Michele has a diverse background in public relations, media relations, strategic planning, and crisis communication. She managed the Mortgage Servicing Department’s Client Response & Communications teams at Everbank, responding to all written communications as well as the escalated call center’s verbal correspondence. Michele additionally held the position of Director of Government & Public Relations at the Dalton Agency where she managed clients in real estate, government, and public affairs, including the City of Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, Wal-Mart, Shand’s HealthCare, CDM, Swisher, and Manson Construction.

Michele’s impressive array of qualifications also includes being a Florida licensed Circuit Certified Mediator, Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator, Florida licensed Real Estate Broker, and Real Estate Instructor.

Beyond her professional life, Michele and her husband reside in Ponte Vedra, Florida, and share a passion for golf. Her dedication to the greater Jacksonville community is evident in her past role as Commissioner of the Jacksonville Human Rights Commission, where she exemplified her commitment to giving back through community service. Additionally, Michele spent approximately 10 years advocating for abused and neglected children as both a Guardian ad Litem and Attorney ad Litem Volunteer, where she contributed thousands of volunteer hours working with the Guardian ad Litem program, a non-profit foundation, and the juvenile justice legal system.  Most recently, Michele has become a certified First Tee and US Kids Golf coach and is also working on obtaining her LPGA and PGA certifications. She enjoys coaching Junior Golf, especially the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf program.
