Jimerson Birr Attorney Named to the 2014 NEFBA Board of Directors

Jacksonville, Fla. – January 16, 2014 – Jimerson & Cobb, P.A., managing partner Charles Jimerson was named to the 2014 board of directors for the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA). This is the third consecutive year that Jimerson has been named to the NEFBA board of directors. Jimerson also serves as NEFBA’s General Counsel.

“NEFBA is an organization dedicated to promotion of the construction industry in Northeast Florida,” Jimerson said. “Its efforts directly impact many of our clients, and I am honored to continue serving the organization in this capacity.”

As a member of the board of directors, Jimerson serves along with other professionals in the construction industry to contribute to the overall health and wellness of the local economy through promoting sound business practices, driving responsible growth and supporting legislation that creates jobs and furthers quality of life in Northeast Florida.

This year marks NEFBA’s 70th anniversary in Northeast Florida of representing members through numerous groups, training and effective representation on the issues that affect the construction industry in Northeast Florida. The association serves the construction industry in nine Northeast Florida counties. Councils for builders, developers and associates in Clay, St. Johns and Nassau counties reflect a great diversity and strength in representing the industry. Its charitable foundation, chartered in 1986, continues the important work that has crossed county lines helping hundreds of groups and individuals, young and old, in need of assistance. In the 25 years, the NEFBA Charitable Foundation has contributed more than a million dollars to local charities and organizations. In 2001, NEFBA launched the Builders Care program, reaching out into the community to repair severely damaged houses belonging to the area’s elderly and disadvantaged – Rebuilding the American Dream.

Charles Jimerson has received professional recognition as an AV® rated lawyer from Martindale Hubbell, as an expert in construction law by The Florida Bar as a Board Certified Construction Attorney, from Florida Trend and Florida Super Lawyers magazines and was named to the Jacksonville Business Journal ’s “40 Under 40” in 2011, an award designating the top 40 business professionals under the age of 40 in Northeast Florida. Jimerson is also a member of the

Leadership Jacksonville class of 2013. He is a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics and the Campbell University Lundy-Fetterman School of Business. While attending Campbell, he also served as an active duty Combat Meteorologist in the United States Air Force.
