Jessica Skoglund Mazariego is an experienced complex commercial litigator who specializes in business and real estate litigation and arbitrations. Known for her collaborative approach to achieving client success, Jessica works in close partnership with her clients, focusing on understanding their unique challenges and strategic objectives. She takes the time to listen, ensuring that she crafts tailored, cost-effective solutions that align with her clients’ goals, whether they are navigating complex legal disputes or managing high-stakes situations.

With a reputation for her tenacity and unwavering commitment, Jessica has earned recognition for her skill in handling high-profile cases, often working in tandem with clients to develop and execute effective strategies that produce results. Jessica partners with her clients through all phases of litigation, ensuring that they not only receive rigorous representation but also experience a high level of personal attention and engagement. Whether managing business-to-business disputes, complex real estate issues, or defending clients in crisis situations, Jessica works side by side with her clients to navigate the legal landscape, always striving to protect their interests and achieve the best possible result. Her commercial litigation practice spans a wide range of issues, including breach of contract, fraud, employment disputes (including non-compete and non-solicitation agreements), trade secrets, misappropriation, defamation, and other business torts. She also represents investors, developers, and associations in real estate litigation, covering matters such as construction claims, surety rights, bond claims, Miller Act claims, failure to disclose, creditor rights (secured and unsecured, institutional and private lending), quiet title, foreclosure, and disputes involving homeowners’ associations, to name just a few.

In addition to her litigation expertise, Jessica is an experienced appellate attorney who has successfully presented oral arguments in the Fifth District Court of Appeals in Florida, reinforcing her position among the top advocates in the state. Through every case, Jessica remains deeply focused on her clients’ success, serving not just as a litigator but as a trusted advisor and partner in their long-term strategic goals.

As a member of the Trial Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar, Jessica is recognized as highly skilled litigator with a proven track record of success and satisfaction for her clients. She currently serves on the Florida Bar’s Law Related Education Committee. Jessica takes great pride in promoting education, social outreach, and mentorship to students across the state.

In pursuit of her love for international law and business, Jessica obtained her International Law Certificate of Concentration from Stetson University College of Law, a highly exclusive and competitive program of no more than five students per year. Today, she utilizes this specialty area of the law and her global network to assist her international business clients with arbitration, dispute resolution, and international transactions.

Born in Alabama and raised in Tampa, Jessica and her husband, Emanuel, are high school sweethearts and have been together for more than 19 years. Together, they’re navigating the joyful chaos of parenthood with their spirited 3-year-old daughter who keeps Jessica’s negotiation skills sharp. When she’s not in the courtroom, Jessica and her family are often traveling the globe, going on cruises together, or visiting Disney World and Universal Theme Parks.

    • Secured a six-figure award and justice for an elderly couple by prevailing on their fraudulent lien claim against a local contractor who attempted to scam them.
    • Represented homeowners in a major class action litigation against residential developer involving construction delays and developer misconduct related to a large-scale community development project.
    • Represented healthcare providers in a multimillion-dollar litigation against former employees and co-conspirators involving a complex healthcare fraudulent billing scheme.
    • Lead counsel for a national e-commerce company in eight-figure complex litigation involving a failed merger and acquisition spanning across multiple jurisdictions against competitors while navigating sophisticated commercial contract claims and antitrust laws.
    • Lead counsel on multi-jurisdictional litigation matter involving the unethical artificial intelligence (AI) deployment and technology misuse, including data privacy breaches, misuse of generative AI and OpenAI, unauthorized AI implementation, and Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) compliance failures.
    • Obtained a million-dollar arbitration award for a client in a high-stakes, bet-the-company, trade secrets misappropriation and unfair competition dispute, including theft of proprietary business information and confidential data breaches.
    • Won oral argument before the Fifth District of Appeals of Florida on a construction defect litigation, successfully defending trial court judgment of no liability in favor of franchisor client and preserving favorable outcome through appellate advocacy on a complex construction and development project.
    • Achieved complete defense victory for a real estate investor in high-exposure premises liability litigation by uncovering fraudulent claims, exaggerated medical injuries, and falsified financial documentation, thereby dismantling plaintiff’s multimillion-dollar demand and exposed a coordinated scheme involving fabricated evidence and inflated damages.
    • Represented real estate investor with substantial residential property portfolio against homeowners’ association pursuing seven-figure penalty assessments by successfully invalidating unlawful fines totaling over $1 million and secured full attorneys’ fee recovery for client and protecting the investment holdings from improper HOA overreach and unauthorized fee structures.
    • Lead defense counsel for manufacturing company in complex multi-jurisdictional litigation involving healthcare product disputes, trade secrets misappropriation, and intellectual property ownership dispute by protecting client’s valuable IP portfolio, research and development, and propriety manufacturing processes in the competitive healthcare products industry.
