Jimerson Birr Selected to Gator100

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., February 28, 2017 – Local law firm Jimerson & Cobb, P.A. was named to the University of Florida’s 2017 Gator100 during an on-campus ceremony on Feb. 10. Sponsored by the UF Alumni Association, in partnership with the UF Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center, the Gator100 honors the 100 fastest-growing businesses owned or led by UF alumni. The rankings were determined by Ernst & Young, which calculated each company’s compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) over the past three years to produce the results.

Jimerson & Cobb was ranked No. 37 on the list, with a CAGR of 52.14 percent. One of only four law firms to make the list, this was the company’s second time receiving the award—the first being in 2015. In 2016, Jimerson & Cobb was also honored as one of the fastest-growing law firms in
America by the Law Firm 500, and has been recognized four times by the Jacksonville Business Journal as one of the 50 fastest-growing companies in Northeast Florida.

Jimerson & Cobb Managing Partner Charles Jimerson is a graduate of the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law and accepted the award on behalf of his firm. “As a proud Gator alumnus, it’s truly an honor for me to be acknowledged by my alma mater among some of the country’s best and brightest entrepreneurs,” said Jimerson. “My time at UF taught me many things, the most important of which being that one can achieve great things when one works hard enough at it. I think my firm’s continued growth and success is a testament to the hard work of our employees.” To qualify for the Gator100, companies must have been in business for at least five years as of Oct. 1, 2016, and have had verifiable annual revenues of $250,000 or more in 2013. Additionally, UF alumni had to meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Owned 50 percent or more of the company from Jan. 1, 2013, through Oct. 1, 2016; or
• Served as company’s chief executive from Jan. 1, 2013, through Oct. 1, 2016; or
• Founded the company and been active as a member of the most senior management team
  from Jan. 1, 2013, through Oct. 1, 2016.
