Overview
Robert L. Ehrhardt is an accomplished attorney at Jimerson Birr, P.A., with over two decades of legal experience spanning government, private practice, and regulatory leadership. His practice focuses on administrative law, regulatory compliance, and complex litigation, drawing on a distinguished career in public service and private advocacy.
Before joining Jimerson Birr, Robert served as Deputy General Counsel and Senior Attorney for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, where he led rulemaking initiatives and advised executive leadership on legal and policy matters. He also held senior legal roles at the Florida Department of Education and the Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco, providing counsel on licensing, enforcement, and legislative analysis.
Robert’s private practice experience includes representing clients in civil litigation, probate, guardianship, and criminal defense. He also served as a plaintiff’s attorney in first-party insurance litigation and began his career as an Assistant State Attorney, trying over 30 jury cases.
In addition to his legal practice, Robert has served as a long-time research associate for Professor Emeritus Charles Ehrhardt, contributing to the annual edition of Ehrhardt’s Florida Evidence.
Robert earned his Juris Doctor from Florida State University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi and the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, from Presbyterian College, with honors in history and a minor in political science.
Born and raised in Tallahassee, Robert enjoys spending time with his son Charlie and his 2 dogs and 2 cats. He also enjoys working out or reading a good book.
