Zachary A. Pestcoe is an associate attorney at Jimerson Birr, where he first started as a summer associate in May of 2021. Mr. Pestcoe works on a wide range of general commercial litigation matters including those related to construction, banking, professional services, employment, judgment collections, and class action defense.
Mr. Pestcoe earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, cum laude. Mr. Pestcoe received an outstanding achievement award for his pro-bono work he completed while earning his Juris Doctor. Mr. Pestcoe also earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida in economics and political science.
Mr. Pestcoe worked as a Summer Judicial Intern under the Honorable Judge William P. Dimitrouleas, focusing primarily on civil disputes that were approaching trial. As a law student, Mr. Pestcoe was an editor for the Florida Journal of International Law, a Member and Coach for the Florida Tax Moot Court Team, and a Section Representative for the Jewish Law Student Association. As a Coach for Florida’s Tax Moot Court Team, Mr. Pestcoe coached his team to the finals of the ITMC competition.
Mr. Pestcoe’s passion for advocacy began in high school. Mr. Pestcoe was a nationally competitive Debate Team Member and Coach for his high school Policy Debate Team. As an undergraduate student at the University of Florida, Mr. Pestcoe became Florida Blue Key’s Director of Policy Debate, responsible for hosting and planning the Policy Debate portion of Florida Blue Key’s annual tournament.
Mr. Pestcoe was born and raised outside of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After spending seven years in Gainesville, Mr. Pestcoe finally moved to Jacksonville in 2022. As a new Jacksonville resident, Mr. Pestcoe is eager to explore the city, catch Jaguars games, and experience Jacksonville’s beaches. Mr. Pestcoe enjoys live country music, hiking with his dog, playing poker, and trying new restaurants.
