Jimerson Birr Welcomes New Business Litigator to the Firm, Austin T. Hamilton

Jacksonville, Fla. – February 21, 2019 – Jimerson Birr has hired Austin T. Hamilton to add to the firm’s business litigation and construction practice groups. He focuses on all aspects of business and construction litigation in both state and federal court.

Mr. Hamilton is AV® rated by Martindale-Hubbell, recognized by his peers as having the highest level of ethical standards and professional ability. He was named a Rising Star for 2018 in the Florida Super Lawyer’s magazine as a business litigation attorney. Mr. Hamilton is an experienced trial attorney who has tried both jury trials and bench trials in state and federal court. Recently, he was the lead plaintiff’s attorney in an eight (8) day federal jury trial involving an insurance coverage dispute resulting in a $1.89 million-dollar judgment for his client. He has represented many businesses in the construction sector, with substantial general contractor and subcontractor jury trial experience, resulting in high dollar figure judgments for his clients. Prior to joining Jimerson Birr, he was with Heekin Litigation Group, where his practice focused on business litigation.
Mr. Hamilton received his Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University. While in law school, he was on the Florida Coastal Law Review and was the Executive Editor of the Florida Coastal Law Review Executive Board. He was also a Student Pupil in the prestigious Chester Bedell American Inn of Court, and he interned with a United States District Court Judge for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division. Mr. Hamilton was born in Lafayette, Indiana but he grew up in Oberlin, Ohio. He and his family have
called Jacksonville their home since 2009.
